Color can tell a story

Color is used in film (or in any other kind of art) to express emotions, and make the ones watching it feel things.

However, this was not possible at the very beginning of filmmaking. You know…because the only colors in films were like…BLACK AND WHITE.

Color can affect people emotionally and psychologically. This often happens without those people even realizing it.

People react in different ways when seeing different colors.

While red has been shown to raise blood pressure, blue has a calming effect.

Categories of colors

  • Primary Colors (3): Red, Yellow, Blue
  • Secondary Colors (3): Orange, Green, Violet
  • Tertiary Colors (6): Red-Orange, Yellow-Orange, Yellow-Green, Blue-Green, Blue-Violet, Red-Violet, which are formed by mixing a primary with a secondary
